About STC Arts Academy
Founded in 2006, the school has developed from an initial class of 4 students to nearly 150 students currently enrolled. Over the past 15 years, the school has cultivated more than 600 students. Through professional academic teaching methods, vivid language expression, and vibrant colors that inspire students’ artistic creativity, the school has successfully nurtured numerous graduates. Many of them have been accepted into prestigious programs such as the Bachelor of Education in Visual Arts Education at the University of British Columbia, the School of Arts Media Design at Simon Fraser University, the Bachelor of Fine Arts at Queen’s University, the Environmental Design program at the University of Toronto’s School of Architecture, the Industrial Design program at the University of Alberta, the Sheridan College of Arts, and the Architectural Design program at the McGill School of Arts. The acceptance rate for 12th-grade students submitting portfolios for university art programs remains at 100%.
Currently, all teachers responsible for professional art instruction have graduated from key professional art colleges. Teacher Li graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and previously served as a professional teacher at the same academy. Teacher Xia graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and has worked as a designer in the news media industry and as a full-time teacher at several art education institutions. Teacher Huang graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and has many years of experience as a high school art teacher. Principal Wei graduated from the School of Fine Arts at Shaanxi Normal University, a 211 project university directly under the Ministry of Education.
The educational direction of STC Arts Academy is to provide a solid foundation for students aiming to pursue majors in fields such as fine arts, environmental art design, animation design, architectural design, and interior decoration. In recent years, our students have actively participated in various provincial and municipal art competitions. They have won numerous awards, including first prizes, in competitions held by the Calgary Sun, the Calgary Cultural Center, and the Cadel Centre. These achievements reflect the strong fundamental skills and rich creative abilities of our students.
The school’s educational philosophy is to integrate the strengths of both Western and Eastern cultural education to cultivate versatile art and design talents needed in the modern era. Our teaching is tailored to fit individual needs, employing differentiated instruction and categorized teaching methods. This ensures that students at all levels can achieve significant improvement through our training programs.
